The pilot project for rubberised roads has been conducted in five states, namely Kelantan, Pahang, Selangor, Kedah and Negeri Sembilan. In October last year, a 3km stretch of rubberised road was constructed in Teluk Intan, Perak. This month, work began on a 20km stretch between Segamat and Yong Peng, Johor.

LAST week, Teluk Intan became the first town in the country to have a rubberised road made of Cup-Lump Modified Bitumen (CMB). According to a report by Bernama recently, the 1km segment of Jalan Utama Kampung Sungai Kerawai on the outskirts of town was opened by Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong.
